GrabOnRent is known for its rental services and has established itself as the biggest rental marketplace. We aggregate individual & distributed suppliers to provide a wide variety of products to our customers to rent from. Thus making any product available to anyone by introducing an alternate method for product consumption other than buying.
What was the need to redesign the GrabOnRent logo?
With the aim of providing an alternate method of consumption and a larger vision towards sharing economy, the earlier logo did not clearly express the underlying thoughts. It was limited to a hyperlocal representation; which is quite a common practice. We do not intend to portray GrabOnRent as a cheaper option – because it is not. GrabOnRent offers a variety of products, from affordable to premium categories, catering to a large section of society. The target users are not limited to only those who hunt for a cheaper alternative. GrabOnRent wishes to make renting a lifestyle choice. Accessibility trumping ownership. Hence, it was time when we re-inspected our logo.
We mapped the core motto of the business and who better than the founders could tell us that?! We conducted a quick session with the founders, one at a time and understood the reason for starting GrabOnRent and their vision. We also interviewed all the teammates and chalked out their thoughts in simple keywords. The keywords after a day’s efforts that came out were very clear –
With these, we started our journey with sketching. We began with symbolic sketches.
Amazing results are achieved when things are kept simple. Keeping it free from clutter, we only aimed at a single representation that highlighted the reusability in a lifecycle of a product; clearly highlighting the core of the business. And we got our hands to this.
Furthermore, we infused life into the logo by using the colour orange, that signifies energy combined with fun, the colour of the risk-taker, the extrovert and the uninhibited. In colour psychology, it means adventure, optimism, self-confidence, and sociability. In business applications, orange gives the impression of affordability, depending on the shade chosen and its combination with other colours. This perfectly blended with our core values and beliefs.
Putting everything together and adding a flat representation of globe meaning for everyone, we got the final version of our logo.
During the process of redesigning our logo, we were reminded of things that otherwise usually get ignored in the melee of running a business as a startup. Speaking to your colleagues and discussing the goals of a company with the management team can bring the unsaid out in a jiffy. On the other hand, consulting too many people can challenge your patience level; everyone finds their point of view better than other for all the right reasons. In the end, the effort and patience pay off!
The timing of the new logo reveal could not have been better. We just announced our Pre-Series A round of funding. Our journey has just begun with a lot of innovation yet to hit the market. We are not only working towards helping the customers to reduce their capital expenditure while relocating to a city such as Bangalore by renting Furniture and Appliances, but also towards uplifting the quality standards and market reach of the merchant network. We would love to see more of our products to hit the deck in the coming months and the tally of our beloved customers going higher and higher.
We believe this logo stands tall to express the team’s vígour for upcoming challenges yet to be solved. All the best and congratulation to us, the team at GrabOnRent 🙂
